POSITION SUMMARY Nature and Scope Pressure System Engineer (along with the rest of the Pressure Systems / Mechanical Integrity group and Function Engineer), will provide on-going pressure systems and mechanical integrity support Responsibilities include operating plant equipment inspection, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, mechanical integrity program development, design engineering review, materials ion and fabrication and installation inspection of pressurized systems Base at AP gasification plant, Togtoh, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China; Travel in China and Asia as required PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES Troubleshoot Pressure System issues in the Operating plants Inspect Pressure System Equipment (including Gasifiers, Pressure Vessels, Columns, Heat Exchangers, Fired Heaters, Storage Tanks, Piping, Pipelines and Relief Devices) during plant outages / normal operation, evaluate results and recommend correction action / repairs Develop repair procedures and inspection plan and provide technical guidance to plant operation / maintenance regarding inspection types and methods. Support repair and inspect for quality Lead Pressure System equipment / piping repair Develop Pressure System Maintenance / Reliability Plan and Mechanical Integrity Program considering various damage mechanisms Technical review of Equipment modifications using Management of Change process Design engineering of Pressure Systems including development of technical specification, review of mechanical strength calculation and fabrication drawing Develop inspection / test plans for fabrication of Pressure System equipment / Pipelines. Inspect during fabrication / installation Train Plant / Maintenance personnel on pressure system maintenance / inspection Maintain expertise in existing and developing technologies associated with the inspection of pressurized systems (ex: Shear wave, Eddy Current, Profile Radiography) Input for development and maintenance of Pressure System standards, procedures, best practices, inspection contracts and contractor ion Participate at professional association meetings to determine best practices being used in the industry and apply them to our pressure systems Assume a role in incident investigations and Cause Investigations of incidents Any other duties as assigned JOB REQUIREMENTS Mechanical Engineering graduate (B. Engg, B.Tech, B.S.,) with 6 years of relevant experience in gasification / chemical / refinery / gas plant maintenance / inspection / engineering Working knowledge of the GB and ASME / ANSI codes for design and inspection In depth knowledge and experience in inspection & testing techniques for gasifiers, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, fired heaters, storage tanks, piping and relief devices Knowledge and understanding of local statutory / regulatory inspection requirements Proficiency in English speaking and writing Good interpersonal and coordinating skills and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels within the organization Desirable to have GB / ASME / API Pressure Vessel / Piping inspection qualification Desirable to have Materials Engineering knowledge Coal Gasification and Purification plant working experience will be a plus ORGANIZATION CHART This position will report directly to the Asia Pressure System / MI Manger. The incumbent will work closely with Plant Operations Technical Solution, Operations, Maintenance and Project team, sub-regional / regional Pressure System / MI / Materials Engineering team and Operational Excellence team. In addition, interfaces with the following to achieve objectives: o Plant / Line Management o EH&S Auditors o Inspection Agencies / Companies o Professional Trade Organizations o Regulatory Agencies in China |
